What is a VATS key?

The VATS immobiliser system is one of the first immobiliser systems in cars. VATS immobiliser was used in many American cars from 1985-2002. You can recognize a VATS key by the black resistor in the metal part. VATS keys come with 15 different resistors. You can find out the correct resistance (0.386-12.290) by measuring the resistance of the old key. You can find the resistance values of the keys in the picture.
