Is this cheaper than the dealer?
Yes. We do the same work, often more, without dealer prices and long queues.
What's included in the key price?
When one working key remains, the price includes the key, the programming and any cutting of the metal key blade.
Can I get a spare key even if my current key works?
Yes. It's worth making a spare while you still have one working key. That's usually faster and cheaper than making a new key when all keys are lost.
What information do I need to book?
To book you'll need an email address and the car's registration number, make, model and year. If you're not sure which key to choose, you can leave the choice to our staff.
Do I have to book an appointment?
You don't have to book, but booking ensures you won't have to wait if there's a queue. Key repairs don't need an appointment.
How fast do I get a key?
Most keys are made and programmed during your visit, often within an hour. The exact time depends on the car model and the scope of work.
Do I have to wait on site?
We need the car on site while we work, but you can also pick it up later. You'll get a text message when the car is ready. If you'd like to wait, we offer coffee and soft drinks.
What if all keys are lost?
We make new keys even without an original. If all keys are lost, the job takes more time and special expertise, so get in touch and we'll find the best solution for your car together.
Do the lost keys still work after a new key is made?
It depends on the car model and the programming method. On some cars a new key can be added without disabling the lost ones, while on others any keys not present during programming are disabled automatically. Tell us your preference in store and we'll aim to follow it. If you want to be sure a lost mechanical key no longer opens the doors, the car's locks can be re-keyed.
Can you make a key if the car won't start?
In principle yes. In practice we investigate the problem before programming a key by examining the old keys and assessing case by case what makes the most sense. This avoids unnecessary costs.
Do I need to bring an ID or the car's registration certificate?
Whether an ID is needed depends on the work, but it's always worth bringing them. If all keys are lost, an ID is always required.
Does insurance cover towing?
It depends on your policy. Towing insurance generally covers towing due to technical faults, such as a damaged key or locks, but not necessarily lost keys. If your car needs towing, get in touch and we'll check our affordable contract rates based on your location.
Can I send a key in for repair by post?
Yes. Key repairs can be done by post across Finland. Send the key so that the shipment is delivered to us and doesn't stay at a pickup point. We recommend a tracked shipment, such as express mail. Remember to include the car's details for the warranty and your own contact details for the return and payment link.
