What does the EV battery quick test include?
In the quick test we check the key values for the drive battery's condition and the battery management system's data. Based on the test you quickly get an estimate of the battery's current condition.
Do all cars give an SOH value?
Not always directly. Some cars provide an automatic SOH value and a ready-made condition report. For other models we assess the battery's condition from live values from the battery and other measurement data.
Can the battery test be done on all EVs?
Yes. Our test coverage is 100% of car models. The report format and available measurement data vary by model, but we can always give at least an indicative estimate of the battery's condition.
How accurate is the quick test?
The quick test gives a fast picture of the battery's current condition, but it doesn't replace a long capacity or discharge test. The accuracy also depends on what data the car's own battery management system provides.
Do I get a written report?
Yes. When the car model supports automatic reporting, you get the device manufacturer's condition report and a possible SOH value. For other cars we analyse the measurements and give an indicative estimate of the battery's condition plus a shorter report of our own.
What does SOH mean?
SOH, or State of Health, describes the battery's condition relative to a new battery. For example, 90% SOH means the battery's estimated capacity is about 90% of the original.
Can the battery test be done before buying a used EV?
Yes. The quick test is well suited to a preliminary check of a used EV's battery condition before a purchase decision.
Do you also test the car's 12 V battery?
Yes. In addition to EV drive batteries, we also test ordinary 12 V batteries. You get a printed condition report from the test.
